Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend World Leaders Forum programs?
World Leaders Forum events are open to Columbia University, Barnard College, and Teachers College students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University. Reservations are required to attend each event.
How do I register for a World Leaders Forum program?
Please go to the event listing on our Web site, where you will be given direction for registration. Upon registering for a program, your name will be added to the program's attendance list.
Columbia University affiliates must register online using their UNI. In order to register for an event, please click on the "register" links on the Events Schedule.
Invited guests from outside Columbia University do not register on this site. If you are an invited guest of the University and would like to register for an event, please contact us at +1-212-870-2273 or send an e-mail to worldleaders@columbia.edu.
Please note that registrants must bring a photo ID to the event. Only registrants on the final attendance list with proper photo identification will be admitted.
How do I find out what my UNI is?
Every Columbia University student, faculty member, and permanent staff member has a unique identifier consisting of their initials plus an arbitrary number.
Please visit http://uni.columbia.edu/ to look up your UNI, activate your UNI, or get information on how to have your password reset if necessary. If you are still having trouble, visit http://www.columbia.edu/acis/support/.
What if I cannot log on using my UNI?
If you are experiencing problems with your UNI, please e-mail worldleaders@columbia.edu and include "UNI log on problem" in the subject line and your name, CU affiliation, and e-mail address in the body of the e-mail.
Can I register for more than one World Leaders Forum event?
Yes.
Can I register for an event marked "full"?
No. However, if seats become available, you will be notified. Standby does not guarantee admission to the event.
What does standby mean?
When events reach full capacity, registrants have the option to be placed on standby. If seats to a closed event become available, only those on standby will have the ability to register for them. Standby registrants should check back often as seats may open up and will become available on a first-come, first-served basis.
How can I cancel my event reservation?
If you have successfully registered for an event, you should have received a confirmation e-mail with directions for cancelling your reservation. If you do not have your confirmation e-mail, please contact worldleaders@columbia.edu. Canceling an event reservation will allow others the opportunity to attend.
Will I receive a ticket?
No. World Leaders Forum events are not ticketed. Upon registering for an event, your name will be added to the event's attendance list. Please note that registrants must bring a photo ID to the event. Only registrants on the final attendance list with proper photo identification will be admitted.
Will I need to bring my e-mail confirmation to the event?
No. Your confirmation message does not serve as a ticket for admission to the event. You will be admitted only if your name appears on the event's attendance list and you bring a photo ID.
