Event Guidelines and Disclaimers

Prior to attending a World Leaders Forum event, please be aware of the following event guidelines:

  • Columbia University is defined by its commitment to free expression and embraces open debate. To honor this commitment, the interruption of speakers or audience disruptions is not permitted. The responsibilities set forth in the Rules of University Conduct will be observed. Those violating these policies will be asked to leave.
     
  • The participation or presence of a speaker at the World Leaders Forum should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the speaker’s ideas by the University or its community.
     
  • The World Leaders Forum event series is photographed, filmed, and live broadcasted by Columbia University and its representatives. By registering for and attending this event, which belongs to the aforementioned series, you understand and agree that you may be photographed or filmed, and that your likeness or image (collectively, “image”) may be broadcasted. You grant Columbia University the right to use in perpetuity and without limitation your image as it appears in the finished photographs, videos, and broadcast recordings deriving from this event. You agree to waive, release, and forever discharge Columbia University and its representatives from any and all claims or actions arising out of or resulting from any use of your image. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please do not register for this event or please unregister your attendance.
     
  • World Leaders Forum events are open to current students, faculty, and staff of Columbia University, Barnard College, and Teachers College. Registration is required for in-person attendance.
     
  • Columbia University UNI authentication is required to attend in-person events. Only those who have preregistered and received an email confirmation from the University will be admitted.
     
  • For in-person events: Due to security restrictions, registrants will not be permitted inside the venue with large bags or backpacks, recording devices, beverages, placards of any kind (such as posters or signs), or laptops. A coat and bag check location may not be available. Please plan accordingly.
