Three years ago, the European Union adopted its European Green Deal—a set of ambitious goals to become climate-neutral and protect its environment. Since then, Europe has had to cope with major global challenges, from the COVID-19 pandemic to the current energy crisis stemming from the war in Ukraine. Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, who leads the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal, will discuss how Europe is keeping up with its commitments.
Columbia University students are invited to participate in a moderated question and answer session.
Cosponsored by the Center on Global Energy Policy and European Institute.
