Prabhat Patnaik
Prabhat Patnaik is one of India’s most eminent economists. He has a PhD from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar from India. He was on the faculty of Cambridge University for some years before he returned to become the Sukhamoy Chakravarti Professor of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, from which he retired in 2010. He is the author of several books, including Accumulation and Stability under Capitalism, Time, Inflation and Growth, Macroeconomics, Economics and Egalitarianism, and most recently The Value of Money. He is the recipient of many honors and awards and has an honorary degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London University.
